Map showing the road from Aston Cantlow to Walcote, and then onto the A46

The first house on the left, "Japonica Cottage", as you come into Walcote from Walcote crossroads has been built on the old carriageway. This house use to be called "Holloway Cottage", which to me is a more apt name for it. Note the next house "Rose Cottage" use to face the road.

Ordnance Survey Map

The map is a small part of a larger map in the sale catalogue of 1806, when the Earl of Warwick sold up all farms in the area. The fields coloured red belong to Walcote Manor Farm and the fields coloured orange belong to Upton Manor Farm. The fields coloured brown belong to Haselor Grounds and the fields coloured blue belong to Barley Leys Farm.
